the 4 noble truths

  • life has the nature of some aspect of suffering. nothing lasts forever. understand this and be not attached to what you are experiencing.
  • the origin of suffering is attachment to desire. desire should be let go of, attaining a state of non-craving should be part of your daily effort.
  • suffering can be overcome. although suffering is always present in cyclic existence, we can end being in cyclic existence and enter nirvana, which is a state beyond all suffering.
  • the way leading to the cessation of suffering is the noble eightfold path. right view, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness and right concentration.

or in simpler words: »Yo! Desire sucks, dawg!« and if someone is getting on your nerves thank them for the lesson in patience.
