Though the target area is growing smaller as the hunt for Osama bin Laden continues, U.S. fighter jets are dropping almost as many bombs on Afghanistan now as they were at the start of the campaign, a battle group commander said. "We're sort of going for this nice, even rubbly effect across the entire landscape," the commander explained, hand sweeping over a map of Afghanistan. "Given how we've encountered zero resistance and zero difficulty and also given that we've bombed this already devastated nation so far back in time Starbucks won't be opening here for like, months, all that's really left to do now is to make some pretty patterns in the rubble," he added. "Maybe a nice holiday effect, like a giant snow angel, only out of the devastated remains of once-beautiful cities and dead civilians."
